Tibetan grain output breaks history record

In 2008, the grain output in the Tibet Autonomous Region (TAR), reached 950,000 tons and the grain yield per mu (1 acre equals about 15 mu) exceeded 390 kg, 4 kg more than the highest level in history, sources from the ongoing work conference of the rural work of TAR.

For 9 years, the annual grain output in TAR had kept more than 900,000 tons.

According to Zhang Yijiong, and official of TAR, the development of the local rural work had achieved a lot in spite of some disasters last year.
