
Preparations for the establishment of a natural science museum in Tibet will be accelerated and the related department is making efforts to start the construction in September 2009, said Ma Shengjie, head of the Tibet Science & Technology Department in the Tibet Autonomous Region recently.
At present, the construction project has been submitted for approval. Meanwhile, the work for preparing the project feasibility study report also started.
The construction project of the natural science museum in Tibet is one of the autonomous region's 180 major projects listed in China's Eleventh Five-Year Plan.
The planned investments for these 180 projects amount to more than 70 billion yuan.
To date, 170 among these projects have been started and 76 have been completed, with 37.2 billion yuan of investment already used.
