In 2008, the tax revenue in the Tibet Autonomous Region (TAR) hit 3.01 billion yuan with an increase of 669 million yuan, 29% more than that of last year, sources from the Tibet branch of the Internal Revenue Service.

Though TAR suffered from natural disasters in 2008, related departments in the region took efforts to overcome difficulties and achieved tax revenue increase.
