He said the economic growth of China is lowered by the global financial crisis, but opportunity is bigger than challenge when greater efforts are made.
Economic growth target set for this year is over 10 per cent, said Legqog, indicating science and technology is of crucial importance for facilitating economy.
The science and technology has hitherto galloped ahead, stepping into the best period and contributing a lot to economic growth.
Outlay for scientific & technical research in Tibet amounts to more than 180 million yuan in 2008, up 42.86%. In 2007, the contribution made by science & technology to farming and animal husbandry and economy respectively reaches 36 per cent and 29 per cent, and keeps rising.
