Tourists: Extra-valued to visit Tibet in winter
08:43, February 02, 2009

"It seems that the far-distance mountains are clearer as there is less oxygen in the air in winter," said Wang Wenbin who just started his first winter trip to Tibet in the Spring Festival, "I touch another kind of beautiful scenery in winter!"

To Wang's surprise, visiting Tibet in winter only cost half of the total spending for him to tour Tibet in summer,"I have enjoyed extra-valued trip here," Wang told the reporter.

From September 2008 to April 2009, the price for selected tour route as well as scenic spot, airlines, hotel and travel agencies will be reduced to 50 per cent, according to Wang Songping, deputy director of Tibet Tourism Bureau.

Cai Qinqin from Hubei Province said:"Besides the low cost, we can also find some beauty in this special season while it is easy to be ignored in hot season."

Chen Yuansheng, a traveller from Shandong Province who has toured Xigaze and Nyingchi holds that it is easier for tourists to enjoy the beautiful scenery of Namjiagbarwa peak as the air humidity is so high that people could hardly to see the mountain clearly.

During the Spring Festival, more tourists have toured Tibet as departments concerned have launched nine new routes for winter travel in Tibet.
