
In order to solve the problems of the low-income groups for the coming Tibetan New Year, the Tibet Autonomous Region (TAR) has sent purchase vouchers as well as cash with a total amount of 54,720,800 yuan to 68,401 people including 37,026 people who enjoy the resident minimum living guarantee standard and 31,375 who are retired elders from state-owned enterprises.
With the help of the TAR Labor Security Department, 41 branches of 8 marketplaces have been appointed as the consumption places for those purchase vouchers.
According to Qi Weiguo, vice head of TAR Labor Security Department, these measures have received appreciation from the local people because they can prepare better for the 2009 Tibetan New Year.
