Happy life in Ganzi Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan

Herdsmen in their newly-built Tagong village in Kangding county, southwest China's Sichuan Province, on Jan. 6, 2009. Close to trunk roads, villagers enjoy traffic convenience. The provincial government plans to spend 18 billion yuan (about 2.6 billion U.S. dollars) on building permanent brick houses with modern facilities and new tents for 100,000 Tibetan herdsmen this year to improve their living conditions.
