Peaceful liberation of Tibet is a strategic decision of the CPC Central Committee and a key component of China's New-democratic Revolution.
In 1951, the Central People's Government and the Local Government of Tibet signed The Method for the Peaceful Liberation of Tibet (also known as The 17-Article Agreement).
This move freed Tibet from the fetters of imperialistic encroachment and broke the state of stagnancy and impoverishment, laying a solid foundation for the democratic reforms and development of Tibet.
