The project is expected to start construction within 2009 and the lowest autonomic weather station will be at the altitude of 4,200 meters with the highest one at an altitude of 6,500 meters.
The autonomic weather stations will play an important role in scientific research, mountaineering weather services and environmental protection for the nature reserve.
Since 2004, the TAR Meterology Bureau has built 6 meteorological observatories on 6 spots between the Qomolangma Base Camp and the spot at the altitude of 6,200 meters.
