Tibetan arts and archaeology exhibits in Japan

After three-year preparation, a show titled "Tibet Arts & Archaeology Exhibition" started at Kyushu National Museum in Japan on April 10, co-organized by Nishi Nihon Shimbun, TNC, Kyushu National Museum, Exchanging Association for Chinese Cultural Relic and China Association for Preservation and Development of Tibetan Culture with officials from Tibet and departments concerned of Japan in attendance.

Gyari•Losang Tenzin, vice chairman of the Tibet Autonomous Region Government delivered a speech on the opening ceremony and he said:"China is a united multinational country with the long-history multi-culture of the whole Chinese people. Tibet is a part of China since long-time ago and the brilliant Tibetan people have communicated a lot with other ethnic people during the long process of development. The Tibetan folk culture and art is an important part of the multi-culture of Chinese people. We believe that through this exhibition, audiences not only can taste the unique Tibetan art, but touch the long-history culture of Tibetan people."

The exhibition will run till June 14 with 123 pieces of items from Tibet Museum, the Potala Palace, Norbu Lingka, Sayga Monastery and Chengde Mountain Resort including 36 items of national class-one cultural relics representing the culture characteristics of Tibetan people as well as displaying the snapshot of Tibetan life.

As scheduled, the exhibition will also move to Sapporo, Tokyo, Osaka and Sendai.
