
In March, 2009, the total imports and exports of Tibet Autonomous Region reached 22.946 million dollars (21.353 million dollars for exports and 1.593 million dollars for imports), 30.8% less than that of last year, sources from Lhasa Customs.
Compared to that of last year, the total value of exports decreased 6% while that of imports dropped 84.7% . The trade surplus in March was 19.76 million dollars.
The drop rate of exports has decreased compared to that in January and February this year, which shows signs of improvement for Tibet's foreign trade have emerged in March.
The export value of featured products and labor-intensive products rose and trade with Nepal and Hong Kong of China has turned better.
