By now, the ratio of Lhasa's urban green space to its urban area has risen to 32.41 percent, an increase of 2.27 percent over 2007. The coverage of trees and grass has increased to 35 percent from 30.32, with the per-capita shared green space going up from 3.64 sq m to 8.01.

After two years of efforts, Lhasa has been the first garden city in Tibet.
