The archives departments in Tibet have made breakthroughs in their work in the past two years, especially in 2008, to promote the harmonious social and economic development of the region.

(Xinhua Photo) After the March 14 riots, archives departments in Tibet made full use of the materials and resources on hand and provided a series of documentaries on the history of the relationship between Tibet and the motherland, as well as the human rights in old Tibet to Xinhua News Agency, Chinese Central Television, Tibet TV Station, Tibet Daily and other organizations.
The departments also take part in the organization of large exhibitions such as Tibet of China: Its Past and Present, 50th Anniversary of the Democratic Reform in Tibet , and so on. They also participated in the shooting of a TV political commentary named Surmounting.

(Xinhua Photo) Luosang Nanjie, director of the Archives Administration of Tibet, said proudly: "the archives we offered to the website of the State Archives Administration were clicked more than two million times by people from more than 50 countries and regions in the world, were reprinted by more than 300 Chinese websites from both home and abroad and more than a hundred English websites."
"Those archives caused a great sensation in both the domestic and international society. They made history speak the truth and ensured a correct understanding of the historical facts," he continued.
