Qinghai Int'l Carpet Exhibition attracts 3,000 businesses

The 2009 Qinghai International Carpet Exhibition opened in Xining, capital of northwest China's Qinghai Province, on Saturday, with 3,000 businesses from home and abroad attending the annual event.

Among the attendants are delegation from Iran's National Carpet Center, carpet experts from Chinese Arts and Crafts Association and delegations from China's Xinjiang, which boasts carpet industry.

With their presence, the Qinghai Int'l Carpet Exhibition, which began in 2004, has been playing a big role in the carpet business.

Meanwhile, with outstanding international and ethnic features and expertise, communication among the exhibition and other domestic and foreign carpet markets is getting closer.

Since it opened in 2004, businesses attending the exhibition have risen to 400 from 200 five years ago. Morevoer, the turnover shot up to 48.2 million U.S. dollars from eight million dollars, with the total turnover in the past five years reaching 160 million dollars.
