A ceremony was held on Monday in Lhasa during which the Communist Party of China Central Committee and the Chinese State Council formally declared the donation of more than 530 million RMB yuan worth of farming materials and other equipments to Tibetan farmers.

March 28 is designated as the Serfs Emancipation Day, which was endorsed by Tibetan legislators in January this year to commemorate the historic changes that took place in Tibet 50 years ago.
