2009: Tibet invests 1.3 bl on rural characteristic industries

To boost the development of rural characteristic industries, this year the Tibet Autonomous Region will invest more than 1.3 billion yuan, which is the total number of that in the past 6 years, on thost industries.

According to TAR Agriculture & Husbandry Department, most of the the investment will be put on basic construction programs to improve the local people's income.

In addition, TAR will allocate 50 million yuan from the special fund of rural projects for rural enterprises in order to encourage those rural enterprises to participate in developing characteristic industries.
