Lhasa: 80 new cars get certificates each day

Up to July 13, there have been more than 210,000 drivers in the Tibet Autonomous Region (TAR) and over 190,000 various motor vehicles, sources from the Vehicle Management Department of TAR Traffic Police Corps.

According to Guan Weihua, a coach of the Vehicle Management Department, the boom of motor vehicles in Lhasa started in 2007. At the beginning of 2007, 65,064 motor vehicles including 49,035 private cars were registered in Lhasa. Up to the middle of July this year, 84,630 motor vehicles have been registered including 65,966 private cars.

With the improvement of people's life, the number of private cars increases quickly. Nowadays, 80 new cars get certificates each day and 90% of them are for private cars. In addition, each month about 135 old cars are transferred and registered.
