Tibetan farmers grow potatoes to get rich

Aimagang Township has been famous for growing potato, which has become one of the ways of attaining prosperity for local people. Cultivated area for potatoes in this town reached 37,400 mu (2493.33 hectares) in 2008, accounting for 32 percent of the total area of Namling. A total of 192,000,000 kg output of potatoes earns 67.2 million yuan RMB (983.80 million U.S. dollars) for local farmers.
