A ceremony has been held to release a set of special stamps featuring the magnificent scenery of Huanglong, one of the most popular tourist sites in southwest China's Sichuan Province.

Located in Ngawa Tibetan and Qiang Autonomous Prefecture in northwestern Sichuan, Huanglong was designated a World Heritage site by UNESCO in 1992. It is best known for its color pools, diverse forest ecosystems, snow-capped peaks and waterfalls, as well as hot springs.

The stamps, issued by the State Post Bureau on Thursday, contain three pieces and one sheetlet, with the patterns illustrating the major scenic and historic attractions.

A set of special stamps highlighting Jiuzhaigou, another World Heritage site in Sichuan, was issued in 1998. Another scenic sites in Sichuan pictured in stamp are Mount Emei- one of China's four sacred Buddhist mountains, Leshan Giant Buddha, Qingcheng Mountain and Minya Konka.
