Basum Co Gongbo Tourism Festival achieves 1.32 mln tourism income

The 3-day 5th Basum Co Gongbo Tourism Festival in Nyingchi prefecture from August 19 to August 21 achieved 1.32 million yuan for its tourism and the Basum Co National 4A Scenic Spot received more than 4,500 tourists with the ticket sales of 440,000 yuan. During the festival, 482 commodities were on exhibition with the turnover of 3.7303 million yuan.

In virtue of its folk custom and abundant tourism resources, the Gongbo Gyamda county promoted trade fair, art performances and costume show etc., during the festival, which displayed the county's characteristic tourism resources. The costume show is a new item that attracts many visitors and over 120 rural people from 9 townships showed unique clothing of the Gongbo Gyamda county. In addition, commodity exhibition inspired rural people's enthusiasm in serving tourism and products such as air-dry yak, Tibetan chicken and Tibetan medicine were popular among tourists.
