Before 1951, there was not a school in the modern sense in the county. In 1952, the first primary school was set up with only 18 students enrolled.
Nowadays, the enrollment rate for school-aged children in Bome has reached 99.65 percent for primary schools and 98.2 percent for junior middle schools.
In 1995, a vocational school was set up to help more students learn new skills.
Nowadays, in Bome there are a total of 17 schools at all levels and local's awareness of receiving education is also improving.
