Sponsored by the Chinese Arts Promotion Center, the exhibition is designed as a present to greet the 60th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China.
Li Shuji, 66, a neorealist painter, is reputed for combining the folk customs with local cultural characteristics in his works.
Unlike other paintings about Tibet, Li's works focused on the Tibetans' present happy life after the democratic reform launched in Tibet 50 years ago.
Li's bright and sprightly style sweeps away the dark and bleak colors used in previous paintings of other artists.
