Girl danced with President Hu at National Day celebrations opens blog on PD Online

On October 19, Tibetan girl Ngawang Qungji opened a blog on People's Daily Online. She danced in a group with Chinese President Hu Jintao in Tiananmen Square on the evening of October 1, 2009.

On the first day she started her blog, Ngawang wrote four blogs in succession. The title of the first blog is "I was so lucky to celebrate National Day with President Hu." Ngawang states in her blog that, "The evening of October 1 left me with beautiful memories. I was jumping and cheering with excitement… I was so lucky to celebrate National Day with President Hu as a Tibetan student!”

On the notice board of her blog, Ngawang again wrote, "I was so lucky to dance with President Hu; it will be the drive for my future work and life." Over 1,000 netizens visited her blog several hours after it was launched.

Ngawang Qungji is a first-grade graduate student at the Dancing Institute under the Minzu University of China (MUC). She entered Yunnan Arts University at the age of 19 after leaving the Tibet Autonomous Region Song and Dance Troupe. Ngawang later returned to work at the song and dance troupe, and finally became a MUC graduate student after passing an admission exam. She is working in the course of learning.

At college, Ngawang loves reading books and listening to music like other students. Although she was able to enter Beijing as a dancer thanks to her Tibetan dance skills, her idol is Michael Jackson. 28-year-old Ngawang believes that the modern dance is free and flexible without too much formality and restraint. Her life is as enthusiastic as modern dance.
