Gold price in Lhasa rises to 300 yuan a gram

Gold price in Lhasa, capital of Tibet, rises to above 300 yuan per gram as the international as well as domestic gold price keeps jumping.

Pure gold in one of the shoppes in Lhasa Mall priced at 302 per gram. According to staff of the shoppe, the pure gold price has been keeping on increasing these days. There is a big price fluctuation in gold market due to unstable factors in both international and domestic market.

Liu Xiaomei, principal of the shoppe, said pure gold sold at about 270 yuan per gram in August. But due to the unsteadiness of domestic gold market, they have marked up the price several times.

According to Liu, the turn over of her shop hit 30,000 to 40,000 yuan per day during the National Day holiday, but now drops to about 10,000 yuan.
