The Tibet Branch of the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China will donate money to build a solar photovoltaic power station in Tingti County, southwestern Tibet's Xigaze Prefecture.
Addressing the donation ceremony held in Lhasa on Wednesday, Pema Tsewang, vice-chairman of the Tibet Autonomous Regional Government, praised ICBC's efforts to promote the welfare of the Tibetan populace.
With the completion of the solar power station, some remote villages uncovered by the power grid in Zhaxizong Township, Tingri County, will finally have access to electricity.
The environment-friendly power station will be built soon to benefit the villagers.
