Lhasa's tax revenue tops 526 mln in 1st 9 months

Tibet's capital of Lhasa collected taxes totalling 526 million yuan (63.65 million U.S. dollars) in the first nine months of 2009, up 2.37 percent year on year.

Lhasa's tax revenue began to rebound sharply in the first quarter of 2009 after a drop of 55.1 percent in January, according to the Lhasa Taxation Bureau.

Three of 14 tax items declined in terms of revenue, namely, the value-added tax, business income tax and vehicle purchase tax. From January to September, Lhasa collected 175.58 million yuan in the business tax, up 21.52 percent over the same period of 2008.
