
▲Second forum on the development of Tibet
A large scale Tibetan dancing titled "Rainbow of Mt. Qomolangma" will be premiered in the 11th Shanghai International Art Festival, which started on Oct. 18.
With three-year efforts, the dance will be performed by the Folk Art Troupe of Xigaze, Tibet.
Xu Xueguang, vice secretary of Xigaze local government, said in the press conference held in Shangahi on Oct. 18, with the Tibetan dance performing in such an international art banquet, the cultural as well as tourism resource of Xigaze will be boosted, relationship between Tibet and Shanghai is expected to be enhanced and the popularity of Xigaze may be raised.
According to Xu, combining elements of tradition and modernity, the dance, which consists of six different scenes, reflects the folk custom, dance, religion and culture of Xigaze.
Following the ups and downs of life of an ordinary Tibetan people, "Rainbow of Mt. Qomolangma" aims to show the tradition of Tibetan custom and dancing and singing.
