
Some 40 Thangka paintings from Jigme Jiancuo and Tenzin Nyima, two famous artists in Nianduhu Monastery of Qinghai met audiences at Modern Industry Mansion, Shanghai since October 26 and the exhibition will end till October 30.
As the treasures of Chinese people, Thangka art of Tibetan Buddhism formed its own genres since 7th Century AD. and it mainly covers Tibetan history, politics, culture and social life. The protracting of Thangka is a complicated process and usually a piece of works takes about several years by painting, broidering and barbola.
The pigment used in Regong area for Thangka is a wonder. All the pigment are made from natural mineral and plant which makes the paintings difficult to fade away.
