Tibet sets up 3rd group of internship bases for college grads
15:34, November 02, 2009

The plate unveiling ceremony was held on Sunday for the third group of internship units for college students in Tibet, according to Tibet Business.

Meanwhile, a symposium attended by leading officials from the 16 units was held by Tibet's College Graduate Career Service Center.

Tibet currently has 40 companies providing internships for college graduate students. During their internship, college graduates will have subsidies for their daily life from local finance departments.

Moreover, the companies are also required to buy them personal accident insurance, said Lin Bing, director of the center.

The subsidies for interns in Lhasa City are 730 yuan (106.9 U.S. dollars) per month.

The application for internships this year has ended up in 120 students applying for the positions.

"From next week we'll screen out the applicants and assign positions to them in line with their majors," said Lin. While assigning the posts, the center will give priority to the students from needy families or those with difficulties in finding jobs.
