Fancy Zanda earth forest in Nagri

The marvelous scenery of Zanda earth forest locates along the river of Langchen Zangbo, Zanda County in Ngari. This unique sight was formed with the movement of Himalayas and the water corrosion as well as the deposit formation in ancient times.

The earth forest is famous for different shapes, with some looks like castles, some looks like watchtowers, and some shapes as pagodas. The total area is about 2,464 sq km, which has been viewed as the most typical and largest tertiary strata earth forest in the world.

In 2007, Zanda earth forest was classified as National Geological Park.
