
Pingkang Yard on the Beijing Rd (M) in Lhasa, capital of Tibet Autonomous Region, is a Tibetan-style courtyard with a history of 200 years. It is also the former residence of the 11th Panchen Erdeni's parents. The Lhasa City Government has raised funds from enterprises to renovate this ancient building and turn it into a scenic spot while retaining its original features. The Pingkang's Compound maintenance project as one of the key protective development projects is invested by local enterprise. The maintenance project combines the Tibetan cultural elements and the characteristics of original compound to show the Tibetan architectural culture and customs for tourists at home and abroad.
There are a total of 50 ancient compounds in Lhasa with each compound having its own style, which make Lhasa, the capital of Tibet more charming.
