Geological education base opens in Lhasa

A base for scientific education in geological knowledge opened in Lhasa, capital of Tibet Autonomous Region on Nov. 4, according to the Tibet Regional Department of Land and Resources.

The base is located at the foot of Mt. Gambo Utse in the western suburbs of Lhasa, covers an area of 48,355 sq m and has a floor space of 11,469.4 sq m.

The base, the first of its kind in Tibet, will serve as a summer camp for students, who will have an education in the geological science and knowledge there. They will learn about Tibet's geology, landscapes and elementary knowledge of the geological formation.
