
File photos show college graduates at a job fair held in Lhasa. (Chinatibetnews Photo)The Lhasa City Government has provided subsidies worth 459,000 yuan (67,243 U.S. dollars) for 334 poor senior middle school students so far this year, according to the Lhasa City Education and Sports Bureau.
The bureau is now screening out the college students who have applied for the subsidies and will aid all those meeting the requirements.
Lhasa City began to aid needy students from 2008 and helped 226 college students that year, with subsidies for them hitting 672,000 yuan.
The aid has four sources including special funds allocated by the Lhasa City Finance Bureau and donations from mass organizations and individuals.
This year the bureau has received two donations totaling 60,000 yuan.
