
An earthquake measuring 5.6 magnitude shaked at the border of Ngamring County and Saga County in Xigaze Prefecture, southwest of Tibet Autonomous Region on the early morning of Nov 8th. The epicenter was detected as 29.4 degrees north latitude and 86.1 degrees east longitude, with a depth of about 33 km.
Tenzin Wanggyai, head of Ngamring County said Qiere township owning 6 administrative villages with a population of 1,223 people felt the earthquake strongly. Fortunately, the earthquake just caused cracks in the walls and beams shifted but no casualties were reported.
The related staff from earthquake, construction, civil affairs, transportation departments have been organized to carry on rescue and fieldwork in earthquake zones.
