We are leading a happy life and growing fast in love just exactly as other children in the world," said Dawa Yangzong, an orphan in the Shannan Prefectural Children's Welfare Home.
To make sure that the 76 children in the welfare home spend a warm winter, Yuan Houqiu, an aid-Tibet government official from central China's Hunan Province who is now serving in the Shannan Prefectural Finance Bureau, raised a fund of 100,000 yuan and brought items for daily use and study for children in the welfare home.
Those include sofas, wardrobes, quilts, clothes, books and bookshelves, etc. The move was to improve the living and studying condition for the children, and make them feel the family love and care.
"The Hunan Province's aid-Tibet fund has always been used to improve people's livelihood at the grass-root level. This time, beside the fund, we raised another 100,000 yuan by contacting the Hunan Provincial Finance Department," said Yuan.
"It is my unshirkable duty as I am an aid-Tibet government official. Meanwhile, I hope more people will offer assistance to orphans and the disabled children," he added.
Upon receiving the daily and school supplies, the children in the welfare home were so happy as to keep cheering and laughing for a long time.
