Several Tibetan elders are waiting for the bus. (Xinhua Photo) Since April, the elders over 60 years old can take bus for free in Lhasa, capital of the Tibet Autonomous Region. With identity cards or the Elderly Pass, the local elders can apply for free IC bus cards.
Up to now, 11,047 citizens have applied the IC cards including 9,813 free IC bus cards for elders over 60 years old, sources from Lhasa Public Transport Company.
Besides, more IC card applying stations will be set up in residential areas, schools and other densely populated areas to provide conveniences for citizens.
