N. Ram, Editor-in-Chief of The Hindu on Wednesday said, as a whole, the relations between India and China are not so tense as some media claimed, by contraries, the relationship is even better.
When delivering a speech on a forum titled "India-China: Striding to Strategic Cooperation" organized by Indian Academy of Social Sciences, N. Ram said although there is no easy way to solve the border issue for China and India, but the actual relations between these two countries are quite different from what some media claimed.
N. Ram indicated that some media regards Dalai Lama's visit to Tawang (Called Arunachal by India) as a provocation, but in his opinion, there is no reason for India to allow this spiritual leader of Tibet to visit the sensitive border region of Arunachal. In addition, the anti-China political speech made by the Dalai Lama in Tawang has breached the achieved bilateral agreement which asks India to forbid any anti-China activities.
