Black-necked cranes to spend winter in Lhasa
10:08, November 26, 2009

The picture shows a group of black-necked cranes at the waterfront of the Hutoushan Reservoir in Lhunzhub County, Lhasa, capital of Tibet. They flew here recently to spend the winter. The black-necked crane is the only species of crane that lives and reproduces on plateaus. It is popular with the Tibetan people and considered sacred. Most of the world's surviving numbers now inhabit China, mainly on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau, and northern Sichuan Province. (Lhasa Evening Photo)【1】 【2】 【3】
