Refrigerators, shopping-rush goods in rural Tibet

To implement the "Appliances to Countryside Policy", an activity for sending home appliances to rural Tibet is organized in Rinbung County of east Tibet attracting lots of local people from Qiewa Village, Mo Village, Rinhung Village and Dejilin Township.

Cibo, director of Rinbung Business Bureau said:"This year, 380,000 yuan subsidy has been allocated for farmers and herdsmen to enjoy preferential price for purchasing home appliances."

Dundan, a villager from Yula village said:" I'm wondering to buy a refrigerator, then the butter and meat won't go bad like reserving in basins. The original price of the refrigerator is 1,430 yuan, but I just need to pay 1,140 yuan thanks to subsidy from government. My two sons are working in Nagqu and Lhasa, each one could earn 10,000 yuan every year. Our life is really sweeter than the water of Yarlung Zangbo River."

The boss of Baile appliance store introduced the refrigerators, washing machines with fair prices and national warranty cards are the most popular among herdsmen.

The "Appliances to Countryside Policy" was spreaded to nationwide on February 1, 2009 and it will provide benefits to local farmers and herdsmen.
