Regong Arts listed in Representative List of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Mankind

(China Tibet Information Center Photo)On September 30, 2009, Regong Art was listed in the Representative List of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Mankind in the fouth session of UNESCO's Intergovernmental Committee for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage meeting held in Abu Dhabi in UAE, . It sit at the 9th position on all the included 22 items from China.
The success of application for the intangible cultural heritage for Regong Arts sees the breakthrough on protecting intangible cultural heritage work in Qinghai Province and it's the first time that local item of Qinghai is listed in the Representative List of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Mankind. It filled the blank of Qinghai's world class intangible cultural heritage item, and also introduced the historic Regong Arts to be shared and protected by the whole world.
