14:08, December 30, 2009

A concert was on December 29 premiered in Lhasa, capital of Tibet, to celebrate the approaching New Year, which falls on January 1st.

The concert is divided into four sections with different themes. Chinese red songs dominate over the whole concert, which shows the excellent musical productions in Tibet and the whole country in the past 60 years.

The concert began with the "Sinfonia of Spring Festival" following by several well-known old songs like "The Blaze of Chairman Mao", "Sky Road", "Lhasa Girls" and so on.

"Those songs represent the development histories in different times. They are all instrumental music, very fresh ideas," said Tenzin Gangbung, head of the Dance and Sing Troupe of Tibet.

In the third section, fragments from the modern dance drama "The White-Haired Girl" and "The Red Detachment of Women" were performed, which were accompanied by the ballet dancers.

"The concert can absolutely bring an aural and visual delight to the audience," Tenzin Gangbung said with confidence.

Moreover, the concert will be broadcasted in the Tibetan-Han TV of the Tibet TV Station during the New Year's Day.
