
Tibet aims to receive 6 million tourists this year with achieving the total tourism revenue of 5.9 billion yuan, sources from TAR Tourism Bureau.
Wang Songping, deputy director of TAR Tourism Bureau said:" This year, Tibet is aiming to improve the tourism economic operation efficiency and service quality, to build up one of the top world travel destinations."
A series of policies will be implemented to promote the tourism marketing, support the tourism infrastructure construction, develop the rural tourism and train the qualified tourism staff in Tibet.
In 2009, Tibet received 5.56 million tourists with an increase of 147.6 percent and achieved total tourism revenue of 5.24 billion with an increase of 132 percent, which broke a new history record in the development of tourism industry.
