40 drivers and passengers trapped by the serious traffic jam due to the heavy snowfall in Chamdo Prefecture of Tibet have received appropriate arrangements.

A heavy snowfall on January 26 hit the Chamdo Prefecture, causing a serious traffic jam on the No.317 national highway within the Dingqing County and blocking 40 people. The snowfall was piled up to 30 centimeters.

Upon knowing the condition, the Transportation Bureau of Chamdo sent workers and machines to clear out the road. 40 drivers and passengers trapped by the traffic jam have received appropriate arrangements. So far, the rescue work is still on full swing, and no traffic accident was reported.

The No. 317 national highway, east to Chengdu of Sichuan Province and west to Nagqu Town of Nagqu Prefecture, extends 1,058 kilometers within Tibet, being one of the important passages for the economic and cultural exchanges between Tibet and other regions in southwestern China and linking the north and east parts of Tibet.
