
Tibet plans to provide telephone service for 176 administrative villages this year, adding the coverage rate of Tibetan villages with telephone calls to 88 percent.
Broadband service will also be available in some administrative villages where conditions are allowed.
Qingqi, head of the Tibet Administration of Communication said they were trying to bring the functions of telephone and broadband services into full play in participating in emergency rescue and disaster relief work, dealing with emergencies and ensuring the social stability.
