Labrang Monastery holds 'Fawu ceremony'

Labrang Monastery in Ganan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture of northwest China's Gansu Province, held "Fawu ceremony" (a ceremonial masked dance in Tibet's monasteries) during the Tibetan Losar to wish for a happy and auspicious new year on Feb.27, the 14th day according to traditional Chinese calendar.

The Labrang Monastery was first built in 1709. It is one of the noted monasteries of Gelug sect (yellow sect) of Tibetan Buddhism and was inscribed on the National Key Protection Relic in 1982.
