Tibetan aid projects are going well with sending 2,400 cadres, talents from other parts of China and providing technological and financial supports for the developments in Tibet. A total of 15 billion yuan has been invested for 5,000 livelihood projects in Tibet since 2001.

Tibet witnessed the fastest economic and social growth, most obvious progresses of environment protections and most significant improvements of people's livelihood in the past eight years. The nine years compulsory education has been popularized among the whole region, and the illiteracy rate has fallen to 2.4 percent. Meanwhile, the central government has invested 110 billion yuan for airports and water facilities and roads constructions in Tibet since 2001.

"Due to the Planning for the Protection and Construction of the Ecological Security Barrier in Tibet approved by the State Council and great efforts made by the Tibetans, nowadays the sky in Tibet is still blue, the air in Tibet is still fresh, and the water in Tibet is still clean." Qiangba Puncog made his remarks.
