08:19, March 26, 2010

Lying at an altitude of 3,816 m, the Waliguan Air Reference Observation Station in the hinterland of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau is the only one of its kind located inland in Eurasia. There, workers collecting the data of greenhouse gas for climatic observation are considered nurses measuring the body temperature of the earth.Without any pollution source found with a radius of 50 km around the station, impacts by human contamination on chemical analysis of these data can be avoided.Liu Peng, observer of the station, checks an instrument measuring the total ozone volume.
