Three historical sites in Lhasa such as the Representative Office of the Central People's Government in Tibet have been included in major new discoveries in the third national survey of cultural relics.

Moreover, the 887 newly-discovered cultural sites include 205 centuries-old ruins, 107 ancient tombs, 332 historic architectures and 98 grotto temples and stone inscriptions, according to a recent work conference on Lhasa cultural and historical Relics.

Applications have been filed for Lhasa's four sites for being members of the seventh group of culture relics under national protection and 20 sites for being members of the fifth group of historic relics under regional protection in 2009.

Meanwhile, the Barkhor Street in downtown Lhasa obtained the title of "China's Renowned Cultural-Historic Street" last June.
