Foreign Ministry spokesman Qin Gang, says China values the reaffirmation by the U.S. on its commitment to China on Taiwan and Tibet-related issues.

China has expressed appreciation over those positive remarks, made by U.S. President Barack Obama and other officials, relating to Sino-U.S. relations.

Foreign Ministry spokesman Qin Gang, says China values the reaffirmation by the U.S. on its commitment to China on Taiwan and Tibet-related issues.

However, bilateral ties underwent undue stress caused by U.S. arms sales to Taiwan in January, and President Barack Obama's meeting with the Dalai Lama in February. Qin says that is not in the common interest of both countries.

Qin Gang, spokesman of China Foreign Ministry, said, The Chinese government always attached great importance to the healthy and stable development of Sino-US relations. China hopes both sides will sincerely implement the consensus reached by the leaders of both countries, strengthen dialogue and exchanges in line with the principles outlined in the Three Sino-US communiques. Both sides should make common efforts in building a positive, cooperative and comprehensive Sino-US relations in the 21st century.
