The Tibetan Art and Archeology Exhibition concluding in Japan's Osaka on March 31 had attracted 49,000 visitors since its opening on January 22.

Previously, the exhibition was held in the Kyushu National Museum, the Hokkaido Museum of Modern Art, and the Ueno Royal Museum, respectively, from April 11, 2009 to January 11, 2010. The four exhibitions were visited by more than 430,000 Japanese.

On display were 123 cultural relics preserved by the Tibet Museum, the Potala Palace, Norbulingka, the Sakya Monastery. Thirty-six exhibits are under the top national protection.

Representing the distinctive cultural style of the Tibetan ethnic group, these exhibits were considered the epitome of Tibetan life and folk art.

The one-year exhibition of these treasures will wind up in Japan after its last leg in the Sendai City Museum from April 19 to June 6.
